New division… new stars

CASEY BOWLS

THE NEWLY-formed Casey Division of the Peninsula Casey Bowls Region had its first presentation day at the Narre Warren Bowls Club on Sunday 22 March.
A pleasant morning was had by all and was well attended by the clubs in the division with an apology from Carrum. The clubs represented were Cardinia Waters, Cranbourne, Cranbourne RSL, Hampton Park, Narre Warren and Pakenham.
Trophies were presented by MP Luke Donnellan, MP Judith Graley and Deputy Mayor of Casey Louise Berkelmans.
Narre Warren bowlers performed very well against the top bowlers in the Division with five winners and five runners-up receiving medals.
NARRE WARREN WINNERS – CASEY DIVISION
Men’s Pairs: Iain Stevenson and Rod Lane.
Over 60 Pairs: Paul O’Day and Andy Kidd.
Women’s Over-60 Singles: Wilma Stevenson.
Women’s Novice: Margo Worsley.
Men’s Triples: Jeff Parker, Paul O’Day and Andy Kidd.
RUNNERS-UP
Women’s Champion of Champions: Shirley Bell.
Women’s Singles: Wilma Stevenson.
Mixed Pairs: Jess O’Day and Jeff Parker.
Men’s Novice Singles: Peter Lister.
Women’s Novice Singles: Jess O’Day.
Men’s Triples winners Jeff, Paul and Andy also went through to win the region title and, as winners, the team now represents the region in the last 16 of the state triples next month.
