POLICE have identified the man whose dead body was found sprawled in the back seat of a burn-out Holden in an Eumemmerring reserve last month as the owner of the car.
Investigators say the incident is being treated as a murder.
The owner of the red 2011 SV6 Holden Commodore has been identified as 40-year-old Dung Tri Pham from Hallam who was known by police to be involved with drugs.
Emergency services were called to a car fire at Olive Road Reserve by witnesses about 11.50pm on Thursday 26 March.
They found the Holden had been dumped and set alight next to a children’s playground and concealed from Frawley Road by the Jan Bateman Pavilion.
It’s understood Mr Pham was born in Vietnam and immigrated to Australia with his family in 1983.
He is survived by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Homicide detectives are seeking any information about Mr Pham and his final movements on the night of his murder.
