Big field for Anzac Day

CARDINIA BEACONHILLS GOLF

The Anzac Day stableford competition attracted 133 players to Cardinia Beaconhills on Saturday.
A-Grade player David French (7) returned the best score in his grade with 41 points, Richard Knapman (12) won the B Grade with 42 points and new member to the club, Blake Cunningham (27) won the C Grade with 39 points on a count-back.
Sunday’s stroke competition was won by John Holden (17) with a nett score of 68 to runner-up Shaun McAlpine (21) with 70 nett.
MIDWEEK
Tuesday’s A-Grade stableford competition was won by Brian Kingma, playing off a handicap of nine, he returned 37 points on a count-back. Les Johns (22) won the B Grade with 36 points on a count-back.
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute Charity Day was held on Wednesday (22 April) with 36 pairs of women entering the event along with a great field of 11 pairs of men. Congratulations go to the winners – John Wheatley (18) and Ian Simpson (25) with 43 points and Lynda Dickson (16) and Sharon Lowden (26) with 43 points.
Thursday’s par competition saw 77 players take to the field. Shane Wheat (6) was the A-Grade winner with +6 and Michael Tierney (18) returned the best score in the B Grade with +4 on a count-back.
And the aces just keep coming this season, with Les Johns scoring a hole-in-one on the 15th on Thursday 23 April – well done Les!
