SPINAL Health Week 2015 runs from 25 to 31 May and this year the chiropractors at Chiro and More Beaconsfield are encouraging you to ‘Get Your Happy Back’.
Mind you the practice is more than just your usual chiropractors – offering a service for all members of the family.
Chiro and More offer a wide range of services including chiropractic services for families, pregnancy and specialised paediatric chiropractic, remedial massage, acupuncture, beauty therapy and lactose/fructose breath testing.
“Our staff truly care for the well-being of our clients and encourage them to live a life of optimal health,” chiropractor Dr Sophie Osborne said.
“The other attraction is the multidisciplinary nature of the business, where several practioners can all work together to get the patient feeling and functioning better.
“We have all completed further chiropractic paediatric training and nutritional support as well as all practicing Neuro Emotional Technique so we can utilise several different techniques depending on the patient.”
And with Spinal Health Week upon us the team is looking at making sure you “Get Your Happy Back”.
“Every day more and more Australians experience disabling low back pain, neck pain and headaches, limiting their ability to work and engage in an active healthy life” said chiropractor Sophie Oborne.
One explanation for this is the negative impact an increasingly sedentary lifestyle has on postural fitness.
“Think about all the hours you spend each day sitting at work or school, commuting, on your computer or other mobile device and watching television.”
“Poor posture increases pressure on your spine which can cause lower back pain, neck pain, headaches and fatigue,” Sophie said.
Lower back pain is a growing problem and now ranks second in Australasia and seventh in the world according to the World Health Organisation’s latest Global Burden of Disease study.
Neck pain is also problematic, ranking ninth in Australasia and 21st in the world.
