Shock player death

THE South East football community has been stunned by news of the passing late last week of young Doveton Eagles player Axl Abson due to an unforeseen illness.
A brief statement on the South East Juniors Facebook page reads: “The board, management and staff of South East Juniors pass on our condolences to the Abson Family… Axl played with the Doveton Eagles 2015 under-17 team as part of a number of players who came across from the Dandenong Saints in early 2014. He is remembered as a tough footballer, dedicated to team-mates, friends and family. Our thoughts are with the Doveton Eagles Football Club, Axl’s team-mates, family and friends during this difficult time.”
