BOUNCING back after trailing early, Endeavour Hills maintained bragging rights atop the VWFL’S Division-3 ladder with a 30-point win over Deer Park.
Endeavour Hills received its first real challenge in VWFL Division 3 against the Lions, but as always, the Falcons soared into life once it got tough.
After trailing Deer Park at the first break, Endeavour Hills snapped the Lions as Georgia Punton (4 goals), Rebecca Sherry (4 goals) and Siona Pilkington (3 goals) carved up the Deer Park carcass.

A six-goal second term put an end to any thought of the Lions’ taking the victory as Elizabeth Whitfield, Sarah Beattie and Maria Pickering all flew the flag for the Falcons in the centre.
Coach Mark Haughton put it down to the Falcons’ ability to pick themselves back up and get on with the task at hand.
“It was fantastic – we hadn’t encountered their style of play and were thinking it was a bit different,” Haughton said.
“But we had a talk before the game about responding – it’s ok to get beaten to the ball as long as you don’t get beaten the next time – and we responded with six goals in the second quarter.”
Haughton praised the efforts of Lara Nicholas, Sarah Beattie, Bec Sadler in the side’s sixth win in a row.
Remaining unbeaten in Division 3 – with 794.59 per cent – everything is faring well for the high flying Falcons, which take on Mordialloc from 12pm at home.
Haughton praised his assistant coaching team Nic Buxton, Marcus Kleinert and Josh Downes for taking the reins and really guiding the Falcons to their current successes.
VWFL – DIVISION 1
GLARE notwithstanding, Cranbourne cantered away from Bendigo to record a 30-point victory.
While the sunset across Casey Fields 3 proved tricky for both sides to negotiate, it was all Cranbourne who also claimed win number six.
From the centre-bounce to the finishing touches in the forward arc, Hayley Wildes (5 goals) was sensational and is well and truly at the VWFL Premier standard already at 18.
In the back half, Corrine Cullis dictated the tempo alongside Danielle Hardiman while Bianca Jakobsson continued to stream through the packs and set up the forwards.
The win pushes Cranbourne to third in the division. The Eagles will host North Geelong on Sunday from 2pm.
