Wrapped up in the games

By DANI ROTHWELL

GOING to the footy or netball on the weekend is a quintessentially Aussie thing to do.
The sense of community provided by friends and family, by players and coaches is something to marvel at and this community feeling is strong within the Casey region.
Getting up in winter when it’s still a bit too cold and organising the family to be there by the right time can be draining, but the adrenaline and hard work that goes into each game from the players makes it worthwhile.
From face-painting to sausage sizzles, there’s always plenty to do as a family when not cheering on favourite players.
Participating in team sports from a young age helps to teach problem solving skills and teamwork and helps to build resilience and a sense of belonging.
