A 27-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after police rushed to a bomb scare in Doveton last Thursday.
The police Bomb Response Unit was called to the Ti-Tree Drive property just after 10.30am where they conducted a safety search on a car and by 1.30pm deemed the area safe.
Police raided the property to arrest the Doveton man in relation to an alleged stolen trailer, but when they arrived found what they thought was a pipe bomb.
After bomb squad investigation the report was deemed a false alarm.
The man was still charged with handling stolen goods and was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in August.
