Key tech skills for manufacturing future

A FREE forum in Berwick will highlight key skills for the future in manufacturing.
The City of Casey and Cardinia Shire Council are running Manufacturing: Change and Opportunity in partnership with several other agencies.
Melbourne’s south-east is home to 11,450 manufacturing businesses.
City of Casey mayor Mick Morland said the sector was quickly changing with technology advances and needed new skills and knowledge.
“The industry is evolving and will continue to become more specialised and it will require higher skill sets for future jobs with more emphasis on advanced technology,” he said.
“This forum will provide an opportunity to hear from employers developing in new and emerging technologies and learn which skills are required to be part of this exciting and innovative industry in the future.”
Cr Morland said the forum would be a great chance for students, job seekers and those looking for a career change to hear from industry experts, explore training pathways and seek career advice.
Chisholm Institute’s Berwick Campus in Kangan Drive will host the forum, from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday 8 July.
To book, visit manufacturingcareers.eventbrite.com.au or call Lydia Ropiha at City of Casey on 9705 5200.
