Man avoids car-jacking

A MAN has narrowly avoided being car-jacked in Doveton after being followed in an allegedly stolen car.
The victim was driving along Acacia Street just after 7am last Wednesday, when he realised he was being followed by three men in a white Mercedes-Benz wagon.
The victim pulled into a random driveway to try and deter the men but they continued to tail him.
The three men, described as Sudanese in appearance, got out of the car and demanded the victim’s keys.
When the victim refused, a small altercation ensued before the offenders jumped back into the Mercedes and drove off.
Police believe the Mercedes-Benz may have been stolen earlier that morning, from Mulgrave.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
