A 24-YEAR-OLD Dandenong man was arrested and released on summons last month in relation to two alleged burglaries on Subway fast food outlets in Narre Warren and Hampton Park.
Since May Subway outlets in Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Cranbourne, and Dandenong have all been broken into and their safes robbed.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Darron Hedge said there had been a number of Subway robberies throughout metropolitan Melbourne this year, including the four in Casey since May.
“They tend to be high level burglaries,” he said.
“We’ve responded to some before and we’ve charged people in the past but whether it’s the same people, we don’t know.”
It’s understood some of the other Subway store robberies involved ram-raids and the thieves managed to take a quantity of cash.
“They’re not stealing sandwiches,” Det Act Sen Sgt Hedge said.
