Out of the pages, into the school

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

BOOKS and the characters in them came alive at Heritage College in Narre Warren this week with pint-sized appearances from Grug and even Noah and his ark.
A part of children’s Book Week the college ran storytime in the library, art exhibitions and of course the beloved annual Book Week parade.
Events co-ordinator at the college Marizanne Stark said the week had been a phenomenal experience for the whole school.
“All the activities were centred around books and every student got to be taught by a different teacher each day,” she said.
Bookmarks were coloured in, costumes were made and imaginations ran wild even for the students’ younger siblings who were also invited to walk in the parade.
Ms Stark said awards were handed out to the best costumes and parents were invited to dress up as well.
