Robbery cash spent in brothel

A MAN who spent money from a Narre Warren South armed robbery at a brothel with his underage accomplice has been placed on a good behaviour bond.
On Thursday 18 January, a man who wanted to buy an iPhone advertised on Gumtree was met in Narre Warren South by the accused and his 17-year-old friend.
The County Court of Victoria heard the accomplice opened the rear driver’s side door and pulled a knife on the victim and told him to hand over everything he had.
The accused, who stood at the front passenger door, took the iPad, iPhone and $490 in cash before leaving the scene with his accomplice.
The 17-year-old was arrested on Tuesday 20 January but police did not charge the accused until March after a voluntary interview in which he admitted spending the stolen money at a brothel with his accomplice.
He was released without conviction on a two-year good behaviour bond on Wednesday 19 August.
He was also ordered to pay the court $500.
The 17-year-old pleaded guilty to a number of charges in the Children’s Court on Wednesday 24 June.
The charges included intentionally destroying property, contravening a family violence intervention order, obtaining property by deception and extortion with a threat to kill.
He was released, without conviction, on a youth supervision order for a period of 12 months.
