Spaces open for art

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

FOUR new art spaces in Casey are open and ready for decoration.
The City of Casey is looking for artists of all ages and experiences to apply to exhibit their works for free throughout Casey next year.
City of Casey Mayor Mick Morland encouraged any artists from Melbourne’s south-east to apply before applications close on Friday 16 October.
“The popular Civic Centre Art Space has presented exhibitions featuring artists from across the region since 1997 and that will be no different next year,” he explained.
Cr Morland said the art spaces at Cranbourne, Doveton and Endeavour Hills libraries support a variety of mediums including digital and 3D works.
“With four exhibition spaces now opened across the municipality, there is ample opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents to the community, providing more chances for local residents to enjoy wonderful art close to home.
Painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and digital art and film are all welcome.
“This is a great opportunity for artists to gain exposure and share their love of art with the community, as well potentially sell some of your pieces to interested buyers,” Cr Morland said.
For more information or to obtain an application pack visit www.casey.vic.gov.au/artspace or phone Customer Service on 9705 5200.
