Bizarre road rage attack

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

POLICE are investigating a road rage incident in Berwick in which a man punched another driver then stabbed the side of their car.
Detectives are calling for any witness who may have seen the Clyde Road incident on Sunday 13 September between 4pm and 5pm.
The victims were in a dark Hyundai Hatch, heading north on Clyde Road, when they overtook a man driving a white Holden Commodore.
The driver of the Commodore then overtook the victims’ car and threw an unknown object at them before slowing down to about 10km/h.
The victims then began recording the unknown male driver with a mobile phone.
When both cars were soon stopped at the traffic lights near Eden Rise Shopping Centre, the other driver got out of his car and approached the victims.
He punched one in the face before stabbing the side of their car and its windows.
The attacker then stole the second victim’s mobile phone, who was seated in the back seat.
The unknown man was driving a white VE Holden Commodore displaying red P-plates, and which had dents around the rear number plate.
He is described as having scruffy blonde hair with a reddish beard.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information, is urged to please contact Detective Senior Constable Coller at Casey CIU on 9705 3114, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
