OCTOBER is the month to think positively about getting older.
The City of Casey is encouraging residents to join in the celebrations throughout October as part of Council’s 2015 Ageing Positively Festival.
The festival will run for the whole month, with more than 100 free or low-cost events, activities and information sessions for residents aged over 55 to participate in.
“This festival continues to grow in size and popularity, and there are more events on offer this year than ever before where older people can try something new, receive valuable information and meet new people and make connections in their community,” Casey Mayor Mick Morland said.
“Residents are spoilt for choice, with everything from art exhibitions and movie screenings to tennis, bowls, yoga, Tai Chi and social walking activities.
“The festival also has many great workshops and information sessions covering topics including getting around on public transport, using iPads and other technology, shopping and banking online, gardening and backyard farming and planning for your future.”
