ROSALIE Crestani has shared her surprise after footage of the Casey Councillor recently filmed for a documentary about Reclaim Australia was left out of the episode when it aired on national TV last weekend.
The most recent episode of Sunday Night – Channel Seven’s news program – featured a story on the origins of the Reclaim Australia movement, the anti-Islam group which has held rallies across the country.
Cr Crestani, who in July was the MC for a Reclaim rally in Melbourne, said she had been filmed supporting Reclaim and interviewed for half a day during the episode’s production – but her grabs never made it to air.
Cr Crestani is also an active member of the Rise Up Australia Party (RUAP) and wanted to stress that the Reclaim movement had political parties “giving strength behind Reclaim’s message”.
Controversial pastor and RUAP leader Danny Nalliah was also filmed for the Sunday Night episode but didn’t make the final cut.
“There’s political parties giving strength behind Reclaim’s message – what is the government doing about protecting its citizens?” Cr Crestani said.
She said Sunday Night was correct in showing the Reclaim movement to be a “grassroots movements comprising of mums and dads”, but wanted the nation to know it was “so much more than that”.
“It’s got a real organised side too,” Cr Crestani said.
“The Australian public can actually vote for a party that will actually take this message into parliament.”
