Hospital’s hoax bomb threat

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

THE Casey Hospital in Berwick experienced what is now being treated as a hoax bomb threat in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The hospital was called just after 7am on Tuesday 27 October and police were called to the site.
Police reported that a man with mental health issues made the threating call and after a police safety check the hospital was cleared of any threats at 9am.
Shane Butler, a spokesperson from the Casey Hospital said: “At no time was any facility on lockdown.”
It had been reported through social media that the hospital, with more than 225 beds, had gone into lockdown.
No-one was evacuated from the hospital.
