TAPPING, grooving and shaking for the Make A Wish Foundation Narre Warren’s Backstage Dance Academy handed the children’s charity a cheque of $5500.
An annual concert fund-raiser, ‘Dance Aid’ included acts from 17 different dance studios from across Melbourne.
Academy owner Jess Soliman said the idea came to her as a way to give back to those children who can’t partake in dance lessons.
“We teach so many children and get involved with their siblings and families as well and to give back to children who are ill and don’t often get the same opportunities as other children is really rewarding,” Ms Soliman said.
Topping last year’s figure, Ms Soliman, 29, said she had performers aged seven to 18 entertaining on the Rivergum Performing Arts centre stage.
