Different rules

I am writing in response to the article (Kids Opt Out Of Anthem, News Star Community, 21 October).
Our family was at Myuna Farm this week for our grandchildren’s birthday party and found a large Muslim party at the rear of the farm having a great time (about 30 people).
The time period for not to listen to music, attend parties etc. is between 13 October and 12 November but did not seem to matter at Myuna Farm last Saturday.
Pity our national anthem is so down trodden.
Rules for one lot of Australians and made up rules for Muslims.
No wonder we are in such a mess.
June Horner,
Botanic Ridge.

Editor’s note: During Muharram Shia Muslims are supposed to refrain from joyous events while Sunni Muslims are not required to.
