Peddling the fitness message

STUDENTS from Coral Park Primary have been awarded a $3000 grant as the State Government pushes to encourage kids to ride their bikes to school.
The government funding was provided this month in conjunction with National Ride2School Day, held earlier this year – in which 74 Coral Park Primary students and their families rode to school, while 173 walked.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Couacaud Graley encouraged the team at Coral Park Primary, in Hampton Park, to use the funding to build bike parking facilities and bike sheds.
“Coral Park Primary School has done an outstanding job of ensuring their students, their families and staff are fit, healthy and active,” she said.
“This fantastic grant will ensure they can continue their fine work and provide students with even more opportunities to get outside, get active and have some fun.
“With the warmer weather hitting I urge parents and students to take the opportunity to walk or ride to school.”
