Tennis invite in public court

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

THE Narre Warren North Tennis Club has put a call out for more members now that its clubrooms have been refurbished.
President Anne Nunan said the renovations, which were started in March and finished in June, will allow for more members, and members of all abilities.
“We’ve made it totally accessible for people with a disability; people in wheelchairs, and the toilet facilities have been opened up for better access.
“It’s wonderful for us; we’re an old club and one of the strongest clubs in area.
“Our members are loving the new facility.”
Ms Nunan said the renovated clubhouse had been a long-running project, with the rooms originally built out of old wood left over from a hall renovation in the 70s.
“We are very pleased with the money raised through fund-raising over many years and the 2014 Capital works grant from the City of Casey in completing our project,” Ms Nunan said.
The new rooms also include a professional kitchen and improved landscaping.
“We’re trying to encourage all people to come and play tennis no matter what age or ability,” Ms Nunan said.
“We’re trying to promote the club and we allow people to come down on the weekend for a trial.”
The club is located on the corner of Tom Jones Court and A’Beckett Road in Narre Warren North, behind the Narre Warren North Community Hall.
