LOCAL Probus group members are doing their bit to spread a message of community safety.
Last month the Narre Warren Combined Probus Group welcomed two Victoria Police officers to speak to members about crime prevention.
Brett Owen and Sharon Patterson gave valuable advice on how people could stay safe and avoid becoming victims of crime.
The Combined Probus Club of Narre Warren currently has a membership of 114 but is calling for more members, particularly men.
“The required gender balance has become uneven, and more male members (retired or semi-retired) need to be introduced into the club,” Narre Warren Combined Probus Group Publicity Officer Eileen Dorning said.
The club’s next meeting is to be held at 10.30am at the Brentwood Park Community House, in Bemersyde Drive, Berwick, on Tuesday 17 November.
Men, or couples, interested in attending this meeting should contact membership officer John Uren on 8790 5824.
Regular Probus activities include theatre attendance, day trips, dine-outs, cruises, morning coffee, and further social interaction in walking, card, mahjong and craft groups.
Probus needs a few good men
