BERWICK Lodge Primary School celebrated another year with a Christmas picnic.
It was the school’s first festive picnic in several years and assistant principal Sandra McCrum said the evening was a “lovely family event”.
“We had each year level sing Christmas carols and perform for their families, along with an art show and even a people’s choice awards,” Ms McCrum said.
The schools community veggie garden was open and visitors were asked to vote on their favourite scarecrow.
“Each class built a scarecrow so there was 21 to pick from and Grade 3M won on the night,” she said.
More than 600 family and friends of the school attended the barbecue picnic on Friday 11 December and were entertained all night long.
“Our Mandarin children sung a song in Chinese and we had zance (Zumba dancing) as well,” she said.
