AN EAGLE-EYED off-duty police officer spotted a Hampton Park man as he was trying steal building supplies from a construction site in Clyde North.
The officer called for back-up and the 31-year-old was arrested while he was dismantling bathroom and shower fittings at 9.05am on Saturday 6 February.
Police later searched his home and recovered more than $2000 in stolen goods, all from houses under construction.
He was charged with burglary and theft.
