Clyde’s something special is on the rise
CLEAN and green with two large town centres and plenty of schools in the planning, Clyde is the up-and-coming area in the Casey/Cardinia region, according to a local expert.
Shane Howard, director of KaiKura Land Sales and a man who has been in the real estate industry around the Clyde region for many years, believes that in 10 years’ time the area will be “something special”.
“Clyde is what I’d call the new Berwick,” he said.
“Everyone would love to live in Berwick because of the prestige of the place but there no new land developments coming through there.”
And while Clyde has always been a premier area over the past 30 years it is about to really come into its own over the next decade with plenty of major developments planned.
“In Clyde there is 2800 hectares of residential land that the government has put aside for residential development – most in the Clyde Creek vicinity.”
He said the emphasis had been placed on providing green areas and walkway bridges across the creek.
Clyde Creek Precinct Structure Plans, which was approved in November 2014, sets out the planned development of a mixed use precinct which will ultimately provide 7500 jobs and 13,900 new homes, as well as supporting services and infrastructure.
The precinct extends from Hardys Road in the north to Ballarto Road in the south, and from Berwick-Cranbourne Road/Clyde-Five Ways Road in the west to Pound Road and Bells Road extension in the east.
Casey Fields South Residential PSP sets out the development of a new residential community of about 1460 new homes and facilities and services to support a new community.
This plan applies to the area bound by Clyde-Five Ways Road to the east, Casey Fields Boulevard to the west, and north from Ballarto Road to the southern Boundary of Casey Fields sports fields.
“It is truly the up-and-coming area for the region,” he said.
“And we have a front row seat with Clydevale.”
One of the latest developments, Clydevale is just 10 minutes from Berwick and 45 minutes from the CBD.
Residents will live within walking distance of the new regional shopping centres and a new town centre and close to plenty of established amenities, including a host of excellent schools and tertiary education options and Casey Fields sporting facilities, all a short drive away or easily accessible by rail and bus services.
Mr Howard said Casey council and the government had worked to put together something truly special.
Infrastructure to support this area is now going in including what Mr Howard described as the “biggest (waste water) pumping station” in the whole area.
“It should be ready for operation in 12 months and there were will be serious development,” he said.
