Farmer of TV fame at show

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A HARD-WORKING farmer and a veteran news reader are making their way to the Berwick Show this weekend.
Farmer Adam, from Channel Nine’s hit TV show Farmer Wants A Wife, and news reading stalwart Peter Hitchener, will both be at the Berwick Show this Saturday 27 February to speak to visitors.
Adam, 25, will be encouraging local residents to grow their own food and urge more people to get involved with agriculture.
While Adam’s world revolves around running his own 160-acre farm in Drouin, things shifted a little recently after he was chosen to find love on the show Farmer Wants A Wife.
Adam said his sister was the driving force behind him getting involved with the show, but it was an opportunity the young farmer decided to grab with both hands.
“It’s been a very positive experience, I learnt a lot about myself – some good, some bad,” Adam told Star News.
“My sister gave me a head’s up for it, and I saw it as a life experience. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, why not?
“It’s something different; it gets me out of my comfort zone.
“When you work 365 days, I just don’t get out that much.”
Farmer Adam remembers going to the Berwick Show as a kid and is keen to get back there this month after his stint on reality television.
The Berwick Show is being held on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February, and for more information visit www.berwickshow.org.au.
