Young sports are the real deal

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

THE students at Hillsmeade Primary School are well on track.
This week the Narre Warren primary school held a special Twilight Sports Celebration to unveil their new synthetic athletics track and soccer field.
About 500 people turned out to the event on Wednesday 24 February, including ex-St Kilda footballer Fraser Gehrig, who works for the synthetic grass company Tuff Turf.
As well as the new track, the student were treated to a sausage sizzle and participated in a ‘longest kick’ competition.
Star News photographer GARY SISSONS was trackside to capture all the action. 150298
