A SIXTEEN-year-old girl was allegedly caught rifling through electrical items inside a Narre Warren home.
The teenage intruder threatened to injure the homeowner when he confronted her and attempted to grab his iPad back.
The daylight invasion at an address on Hermitage Rise involved a group of five crooks, four of whom got away.
The female offender was chased down by police and sprayed with capsicum spray due to her violent behaviour.
She was charged and remanded in custody.
The afternoon attempted burglary occurred on Thursday 5 May, about 3.30pm.
The group of five offenders included three males and two females.
The man’s iPad was recovered along with other items found stashed in a garden bed on Hermitage Rise.
One of the co-offenders who escaped police was described as African in appearance, wearing black pants and a white jumper.
The second male was described as Islander in appearance, wearing a black hooded zip-up jumper and black tracksuit pants.
The third offender is described as skinny and Caucasian in appearance.
Anyone who witnessed the home invasion or has information to assist in the police investigation is urged to call the Narre Warren Police Station on 9705 3111.
