A NARRE Warren home has burst in flames after initial reports of a large explosion and fire in a garage, about 8.11pm on 1 June.
Neighbour Paul Stevenson, who lives about 500 metres from the home on the corner of Seebeck and Sneddon drives, ran to the scene after hearing a “boom” from inside his house.
He and his daughter Cheyenne took photos of flames emerging through the home’s roof, and observed a blackened gas bottle in the garage.
“The fire certainly wasn’t contained just to the garage.”
A CFA spokesman said six fire trucks attended the blaze, responding to a report that a car was on fire in the home’s garage.
The firies brought the blaze under control by 8.29pm.
The spokesman had no details on the extent of damage.
