Council cop stands down

By Cam Lucadou-wells

A STATE-appointed monitor has concluded his oversight of Casey Council earlier than expected.
Bill Jaboor had been expected to monitor the council for between eight and12 weeks to review a special charge scheme on residents in Market Lane, which was criticised by the State Ombudsman.
Mr Jaboor was also required to review Casey’s conduct of closed council meetings and its public consultation processes.
His tenure, which began on 6 July, concluded on 16 August.
He is ordered to prepare a report to Local Government Minister Natalie Hutchins.
