Ambition of Lion King

MARAMBA Primary School is staging an ambitious rendition of Disney’s The Lion King Jr involving a 100-plus student cast and crew.
Teacher and director Chris Davies says it has been “mind-blowing” to watch rehearsals for the musical, especially a spectacular opening number with about 100 students moving on stage.
“The vibe around our rehearsals and run-throughs has been so exciting. “
The 60-minute production is based on a Broadway production and 1994 Disney film, with well-known songs such as ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’
It follows the journey of a curious cub Simba as he struggles with his destiny to be king, as well as lioness Nala, meerkat Timon and warthog Pumbaa.
It is on at Starbright Theatre, Berwick Fields Primary School on 30 and 31 August, and 1 September. Tickets from the school office: 9796 7150.
