Parking problem petition

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

RESIDENTS are fed up by the scourge of overflow parking next to Kalora Reserve, Narre Warren North, on Saturdays.
Councillor Rafal Kaplon, who presented a petition signed by 16 residents to Casey council on 16 August, said nearby residents were frequently blocked in their own driveways by sports goers’ cars on game day.
“They are trapped in their own homes,” Cr Kaplon said.
One factor seemed to be that Kalora Reserve’s car park couldn’t cope with the growing patronage.
Residents had also voiced concern at the potential for a “serious accident” at the McKenzie Lane-Fox Road intersection during matches, he said.
Cr Kaplon requested a council investigation into the parking and traffic problems.
