Police car rammed

By Casey Neill

A MAN behind the wheel of a stolen car rammed a police car in Berwick, forcing an officer to draw his weapon and fire several shots at the vehicle.
Officers were responding to a report of a stolen car in Elgin Street about 4.30pm on Thursday 1 September when the incident took place.
The driver fled the scene and police engaged in a pursuit that lasted a short time.
The vehicle was later found dumped in Kelletts Road, Rowville, but the driver was gone.
Police believe the man might have been injured during the incident and urged anyone who saw someone who required medical attention in the Rowville area to call triple-zero.
They urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
