Kids on a high for school musical

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

JAMES Cook Primary students have built a towering singing-and-dancing spectacle The Eight Storey Treehouse.
The school’s annual musical involved every student – from Prep to Year 6 – for the performance, at Drum Theatre on 7 September.
The musical follows four characters who explore the treehouse and its nooks such as the Detective Room, the Disco Room, the Haunted House Room, the Superheroes Room, the Prehistoric Room and the Jungle Room.
Acting principal Anne Burgess said the project was enriching for its participants.
“Students benefit in so many ways with increased self-confidence, self-esteem and development of communication and teamwork skills.”
