Cop cops it

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

AN off-duty policeman was allegedly caught driving 25 km/h over the speed limit with an illegal blood alcohol reading in Beaconsfield on Saturday night.
At about 6pm on Saturday 1 October, the off-duty cop was pulled over by a highway patrol unit on Kenilworth Avenue in Beaconsfield.
The senior constable was allegedly travelling at 74km/h in a 50km/h zone and after a roadside breath test, returned a reading of .087 at a nearby police station.
While the officer is yet to be officially charged and the Professional Standards Command will investigate further, he has had his licence cancelled and car impounded.
