A FAMILY violence documentary that zooms into the inner sanctum of a Narre Warren men’s behaviour group is spreading across the globe.
First premiering as a full feature at Hallam Senior College in August, Call Me Dad is set to screen in Sydney on 21 November to coincide with White Ribbon Day.
On 19 November it was set to play at Canada’s Marda Loop Justice Film Festival.
The film gives rare access to the stories of three fathers who commit family violence and how their attitudes are challenged in the Heavy METAL men’s behaviour change group.
Heavy METAL founder Dave Nugent – who is attending the Sydney event – said he was regularly fielding calls from men and groups from even the most isolated parts of Australia.
“The word is spreading,” he said.
