Ride share arrest over sex assault

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

A MAN has been arrested and is expected to be charged with sexual assault after he is alleged to have attacked a woman when acting as her driver in Berwick on 17 July.
Police said the 26-year-old woman from Pakenham ordered a ride sharing service and got into the man’s car, about 1.30am on High Street, when the alleged assaulted occurred.
The driver, a 40 year old man also from Pakenham, was arrested and interviewed by the Greater Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team on 14 October.
He has since been released and is expected to be charged in relation to the offence.
