Two teens bag Gold Duke

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

TWO Narre Warren youth have received Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards from state Governor Linda Dessau.
Asini De Rosairo, 16, and Emily Di Carlo, 19, were among 73 Victorians to receive the award on 3 December.
The pair are current and past students of St Margaret’s School.
Asini, as part of the award’s community service component, was a tutor and ran a residential project in Tasmania.
She said she learnt the importance of perseverance, gratitude and social responsibility.
Meanwhile, Emily created a Share The Love project dedicated to making the world “a little happier”.
The award’s Victorian chief executive Anoushka Gungadin said the participants gained ‘real world’ knowledge and essential life skills as future leaders.
“We are very proud of our Gold Awardees, Emily and Asini,” Ms Gungadin said.
“They have worked extremely hard for this award and we are optimistic about their future, with such a high percentage of awardees gaining confidence in their job prospects.”
