Monash closes for weekend works

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

Weekend commuters on the Monash Freeway can expect delays and traffic jams as the outbound lanes are closed between the South Gippsland Freeway and Clyde Road.
Delays are expected and motorists are being warned to plan extra time for their trips.
All outbound lanes will be closed from 11.30pm on Saturday 29 April to 9am Sunday 30 April, weather permitting.
The works will allow widening of the Pakenham Rail Line overpass at Sweeney Drive near the Berwick and Narre Warren boundary.
A detour will be in place to divert traffic from the intersection of the Monash and South Gippsland freeways.
Motorists will be directed away from the Monash along the South Gippsland and onto the Princes Highway towards Clyde Road.
The Western Distributor Authority and the Victorian Government warned motorists that if the weather delays the works, the detour may be in place until Sunday evening.
