A 27-year-old Hampton Park man escaped with minor injuries after he crashed a car into the front of a bank on 22 August.
The Ford Falcon squeezed past a parked car and rammed a front pillar of the Commonwealth Bank branch at Somerville Road about 5.50pm.
The impact caused bricks and a beam to cascade from the bank’s facade onto the footpath.
Media have reported that two people using an ATM dived away from the vehicle and were not injured.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the driver was believed to have lost control of the vehicle.
He is assisting police with their inquiries.
Paramedics treated the man’s minor injury at the scene. He was not taken to hospital.
