A 14-year-old boy has allegedly crashed an out-of-control stolen car into a police divisional van and then a tree in Narre Warren.
The Nissan Patrol had been stolen during an aggravated burglary in Narre Warren South on 20 November, police said.
The following night, two teenage boys were allegedly in the out-of-control Nissan as it crashed into the police van out on routine patrols in Raven Crescent, Narre Warren.
The uninjured police officers were unable to follow the vehicle due to the damage to the van.
The Nissan was found soon afterwards, having crashed into a tree on Monaro Drive.
Two teenagers were arrested by police the next day.
A 14-year-old boy was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and unlicensed driving.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and commiting offences while on bail.
Both teenagers, who were uninjured, have been released to appear in court at a later date.
