How do we get to Neverland? Fly, of course

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

Welcome to Neverland.
Peter Pan, Captain Hook and an ensemble of the famous children’s book’s characters will grace Bunjil Place as part of an annual showcase by 120 students from the Hallam-based Independent Dance Studios.
Kayla, 15, who is taking the lead role of Pan, will be hoisted on the theatre’s rigging to demonstrate a ‘flying’ ballet routine.
IDS artistic director and principal Nicole Jacobsson said the high-wire act was a first for the school.
“We are very proud to be able to fly a student to bring to life this classic tale and inspire the next generation of performers to fall in love with the magic of the arts.”
The showcase is on Saturday, 9 December at noon. Tickets: bunjilplace.com.au/events or 9709 9700.
