Nine men have been charged as a result of police raids targeting the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang at dawn on 2 May.

A 23-year-old Hampton Park man and a 24-year-old Narre Warren South man were among five charged with blackmail, affray and assault-related offences.

They have been bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 21 June.

Four other men have been remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

They include a 26-year-old Springvale South man charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, trafficking heroin and other drug offences.

Five men were released pending further enquiries.

Police say the 18 raids led by Taskforce Echo related to an investigation into a shooting in Greenvale on 25 March.

Also involved were police from Crime Command, Special Operations Group, Critical Incident Response Team, Operations Response Unit, local detectives from North West Metro and Southern Metro Regions and members of the Australian Federal Police.
