Boy, 13, robbed by men with hunting knives

By Brendan Rees

Casey Crime Investigation Unit is appealing for public assistance following an alleged armed robbery at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre on Wednesday 25 April.

Investigators have been told four to five unknown men approached a 13-year-old victim at a bus stop at about 3.20pm.

Senior Constable Alison Johnson said the men allegedly told the victim to walk to a more secluded area where they have threatened to push him in front of a car if he didn’t do as they said.

Both men were armed with 10cm long hunting knives, and one of the men also threatened to taser him as they made demands for his mobile phone, Sen Const Johnson said.

“The victim’s handed over his phone, offenders have fled the scene but threw the mobile back at the victim,” she said.“They ran towards Princes Highway from Freedom furniture.”

The victim didn’t sustain any injuries and no descriptions were provided of the men.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or go to crimestoppersvic.com.au.
