The latest version of Casey’s home-grown pop-culture convention attracted giant interest – at least from a towering 10-foot Incredible Hulk in costume.
There was no shortage of impressive costumes among 300 patrons at Deza-Con 5 at Narre Warren on 26 May.
An agile Spiderman, Star Trek and Star Wars characters and Harry Potter luminary Delores Umbridge were among the show-stoppers.
Other highlights included a display by Melbourne South-East Lego fans, featuring a Yellow Brick Road with 300 individually-made red flowers.
There was also a virtual-reality beach for visitors to meditate or just chill from the super-hero crowd, as well as vendors selling rare toys.
“We try to keep it a bit different each time,” organiser Roy Condeza said.
“It keeps people coming in to see what’s going to be here next.”
The event raised $315 for homeless provisions at Transit Soup Kitchen, Narre Warren.
