Four cars have been impounded by police in a matter of hours on Casey roads.
The alleged offences during the State Highway Patrol intercepts on 5 June included driving at dangerous speed and drink-driving at a blood-alcohol level of 0.198.
At 2.45pm, a 54-year-old Hallam man had his motorcycle impounded for allegedly speeding at 154 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Princes Highway, Hallam.
He was charged with speeding and driving at a dangerous speed.
At 4pm, an 18-year-old Narre Warren man got his mother’s car impounded due to allegedly driving at 126 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on Tinks Road, Narre Warren.
The man, who had his licence for two weeks, was charged with speeding and driving at a dangerous speed.
Three minutes later, a 27-year-old Hallam man was intercepted in Berwick and charged with 10 offences including driving while suspended, false number plates and drug-driving.
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1000 to him.
Just before 6pm, a 57-year-old Narre Warren driver blew a 0.197 blood-alcohol reading at Coral Drive, Berwick.
His reading was nearly four times over the legal limit.
He immediately lost his licence for 12 months and is expected to be charged with drink-driving offences.
