A teenage boy has been attacked with a Tazer device during an armed robbery in Hampton Park.

The 17-year-old Hampton Park victim was approached by five or six male youths as he walked along Fordholm Road about 2.20pm on 11 July, police say.

One of the group wielding the Tazer demanded that the teenager hand over his mobile phone.

The robber discharged the Tazer towards the victim, striking him in the leg.

The victim handed over his phone and a small amount of cash.

The group ran towards Hampton Park shopping centre.

They were described as African in appearance, wearing dark hooded-tops that were possibly black or dark green.

They wore their tops’ zippers up so to partially cover their faces.

Casey CIU detectives are investigating the robbery.
