Dazzling love story comes to Bunjil

For the first time ever, Bunjil Place’s 800-seat theatre hosted one of Australia’s most prestigious arts and theatre companies on Tuesday 17 July.

Opera Australia’s production of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly made its way to the dazzling new arts precinct, featuring singers performing with a chamber orchestra, along with a children’s chorus drawn from local communities including Berwick’s own Melbourne Youth Chorale.

The love story follows a U.S. Naval officer B.F. Pinkerton who arrives in Japan and when the gorgeous geisha Butterfly arrives, he is transfixed by her charms
