A mother has been carjacked at gunpoint by a pair of thugs in Narre Warren on Thursday 27 July.

The victim, a 57-year-old of Narre Warren South was driving along Harrington Drive when her car, a white VW Golf R, was involved in a rear end collision with a light coloured four wheel drive just after 9pm.

She got out of her car to check what damage had been done when she was approached by two men from the four wheel drive.

Police alleged one of the men was armed with a firearm and threatened the woman, demanding that she hand over her car keys.

“The man punched the woman in the face before she handed him her keys,” said Victoria Police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady.

The two men got into the victim’s car and drove away, and were last seen heading west on Harrington Drive.

The four wheel drive also drove off in the same direction.

Police are still searching for the victim’s car which was bearing black registration plates with gold letters and numerals BO55.

The victim received minor facial injuries in the incident.

Both men who exited the car have been perceived as African in appearance.

The woman’s daughter Harpreet has pleaded for witnesses or anyone with information on Facebook’s Casey Crime Page to help police locate the culprits.

“She thought it was a genuine accident so she stopped and walked out to exchange details and see if the passengers were okay,” she said in her Facebook post.

“They turned around put a gun to her head and asked for her (Volkswagen) Golf keys. When she was shocked and quite for some time they hit her in the face and the gang drove off.

“When she was shocked and quite for some time they hit her in the face and the gang drove off,” she said.

The victim’s son, Jag told 3AW that the men threatened his mother, demanding the car keys be handed over.

“They come out of the car with the pistol and basically assaulted her and took the keys from my mum,” he said.

“They’ve hit her with what we believe is a pistol or a gun on the face and then pushed her.”

Southern Metro Region Crime Team detectives are investigating.
